Woodland Fishing Lake

Woodland Lake is a tranquil two-acre water, surrounded on three sides by young woodland, with the south side offering a neatly mown bank for easy access. This peaceful setting makes it an ideal spot for pole fishing, with depths ranging from 8 to 9 feet, gently sloping up to around 2 feet near the shallows.

The lake is popular among anglers of all levels. Woodland lake is considered to be the easier of all the lakes. However, the north and east banks are now private and reserved exclusively for static caravan owners. The rest of the lake remains accessible, with pegs 1 to 5 along the south bank available for day ticket holders. These pegs are especially attractive due to the presence of water lilies, which offer excellent cover and often draw in fish.

At one end of the lake lies a semi-circular area known as the shallows. This part of the lake, along with the perimeter of the island in the centre, is a magnet for fish. The island itself features a one-meter shelf all the way around it—an accurate cast or a long pole section can lead to a great day’s fishing, especially for Tench and carp.

Woodland Lake is home to a healthy mix of species including Tench, Carp 2lb – 12lb, Roach, Perch, and Rudd. Whether you’re after a quiet day on the bank or a rewarding session chasing lively fish, this lake offers a welcoming and productive environment.
